Mabel Lila Montgomery

Mabel Montgomery, 89, died peacefully Monday, February 19, 2018 at her home in Modesto after a short battle with cancer. She leaves behind her loving son, Mike Chalupsky. She was surrounded in her final days by her loving family and friends.
Mabel was born in Modesto, Ca. on February 13, 1929 to Adeline and Basilio Cadloni. On March 1, 1950 she married Glenn Montgomery who was in the U.S. Air Force and fought in Vietnam. They lived in Okinawa, Lubbock and Big Spring, Texas and Orland, Ca. until settling in Modesto, Ca.
Mabel worked for the Dept. of Defense for 21 years and then worked at the Social Security Administration Office until she retired. She was a member of Holy Family, St. Stanislaus Catholic Churches, and Yori's Grove for many years.
Mabel is survived by her son, Michael Chalupsky of Modesto. She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn Montgomery and sister, Blanche Bispo.
Franklin & Downs Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Montgomery Family. A Mass will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4212 Dale Rd, Modesto, CA 95356. Mabel will be laid to rest at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
