Willie Dixon

Willie Dixon was born on November 4, 1929 in Louisiana to loving parents Randall and Nancy Dixon. At 89 years old, Willie was a resident of Modesto for 29 years. Our father and grandfather, better known to his grandchildren as “Papa” was a significant part of our lives and will continue to be in our hearts. Although he has passed on, he left us with memories of good times and laughter. He had an incredible work ethic that he instilled in all of us. He dedicated his entire life to working hard in order for his family to excel in their lives. Papa taught us that nothing is more important than family. In honor of his memory we will celebrate the memory of his life together as a family.

Willie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Cenarus Lena Dixon (Harton) who passed from this life in 2005. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Deffa Dixon, Susie Williams, Helen Boyd, Louise Dixon, Randall Dixon, Ernest Dixon, Morris Dixon, O.C. Dixon, Ullman Dixon, and Eugene Dixon as well as two of his children; Earl and Brenda Gipson. Willie is survived by his children: Juanita Wright (William) of Chicago, Willie Dixon Jr (Bessie) and Nathiel Gipson all of Hollondole, Deborah Dixon of Modesto, Michael Dixon (Laura), Cheryl Brown (Vincent) of Modesto, and Wanda Armstrong of Milwaukee. Willie is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
