Rosemary Claudia Zimmerman, 99, of Modesto, died mid December 2022 after a brief illness.Mrs. Zimmerman, a native of Gallup, New Mexico, was a resident of Modesto for 76 years. She was raised in San Francisco, graduated from St. Paul’s High School, and was active in the war effort by teaming with the USO on frequent occasions. She married George Zimmerman, a resident of Modesto, on his return from WWII, they settled in Modesto, raised their children and celebrated their 54th anniversary before his death in 2000.She was active as a founding member of Our Lady of Family Church and School serving many organizational roles within both including the PTA, as a church greeter and officer of the Seniors Club. She was also active in the Church choir and in Catholic Daughters. Mrs. Zimmerman retired from Bank of America after working as a Customer Service Rep for many years.Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by her sons, Thomas G. Zimmerman of San Francisco, Kevin L Zimmerman (Jackie)  of Modesto, Joseph R. Zimmerman of Boulder, CO and her daughter, Joan E. Zimmerman  (Joe McCambley) of Fairfield CT. She was predeceased by her husband George, son Michael C Zimmerman and her daughter in law, Dale Zimmerman. Additionally, she was predeceased by her siblings, Victoria Mahoric and Clarence Coster. Her 9 grandchildren were a source of priceless memories. They include; Matthew Zimmerman of Nashville, TN, Anne Everhard (Eric Everhard) of Salida, Michael Zimmerman (Janessa) of Franklin, TN. Emily Durkee (Michael) of Tracy, Kristen Dobbins of Modesto. Luke McCambley of Miami, FL, Will McCambley (Chelsea) of Washougal, WA, Jake McCambley of Jackson NH and Elysse McCambley of Fairfield CT. Extended family includes Aracelly Silva, Michelle and Karlita Sequira of Concord, CA.Additionally, Mrs. Zimmerman had 11 spirited and attentive great grandchildren: Dylan, Kaitlyn and Ty Everhard of Salida, Honour, Mason and Liam Durkee of Tracy and Nathan, Lily and David Dobbins of Modesto and Conor and Ellie Zimmerman of Franklin, TN.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on February 24, 2023 at Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by interment at San Joaquin National Cemetery. The family will be hosting a reception from 11-2 on Saturday February 25, 2023 at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Hall.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to William P. Kennedy Foundation at Our Lady of Fatima, 505 W. Granger Avenue, Modesto, CA 95350.  The family is grateful for the love bestowed upon Mrs. Zimmerman for the 5 years she resided at Stratford at Beyer Park in Modesto.
