Rose Hurtado

Rose Hurtado was born January 11, 1923, in San Francisco, CA, to her loving parents Luigi and Rocchetta Mordinoia. She left us for heaven on June 17, 2019, with her brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Monnette by her side.

Rose was a loving wife for 39 years; her husband, Harry, passed away in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Luigi and Rocchetta; and by her brothers and sisters, Giuseppe Mordinoia, Mary Aranda, Frances Glaser, and Joe Mordinoia.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Monnette Mordinoia; brothers-in-law, Barney Glaser and Tony Hurtado; and sister-in-law Janet Mordinoia. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews who will always remember their sweet Auntie Ro.

Rose resided in San Francisco until 1962 when she and Harry relocated to San Mateo. In early 2014, she moved to Modesto and Salida to be near her brother, Tony, and his family. She loved the country life and quickly made many new friends.

She worked in retail most of her adult life, starting at the old Emporium Department Store in San Francisco. She continued working into her 70s because, as she put it, she loved being busy and around so many new friends.

Rose was the dancer of the family, always the first on the dance floor at any event. She loved gardening, and always had many beautiful flowers in her back yard. And she also enjoyed a quick trip to Reno for a little fun time gambling with family and friends. How blessed we all were to share in her life for so many wonderful years. Rest in Peace, sweet Rose; you are loved forever.
