Rockland Gaxiola April 24, 1950-October 26, 2021
Rockland Gaxiola passed away peacefully at home surround by his loving family. Born in Salt Lake City, he was a longtime resident of Modesto, CA. Rockland will always be remembered as a very affectionate and generous person, who loved everyone. Rockland Gaxiola was survived by his loving wife Sun Cha Gaxiola, Son Rocky Gaxiola, Daughter Sun Dee Gaxiola-Klueber, Son in Law Erik Klueber, Grand Kids Katherine, Karin, Laim, and Matthew. Rockland Gaxiola proudly severed in the United States Army for 20 years. Rockland’s Military Service included three tours in the Vietnam War. He was a Purple Heart recipient, was a POW, and was a Green Beret which is an elite group in the US Army. Rockland was a loving person, who always wanted to share his love with the world. He wanted to make sure everyone he loved in this world was filled with love and happiness. Rockland donated a lot his time to VA groups to help fellow comrades. Listening, giving advice, and caring for individuals was one of the things most people will remember about Rockland. Though Rockland isn’t here with us, he is reunited with his Mother Delinda Johnson, Father Archie Gaxiola, and Brothers: Archie Gaxiola, William Gaxiola, Charles Gaxiola, and Edward Conner. James Gaxiola and Floyd Johnson are the last of the seven sons of Delinda. Rockland Gaxiola will always be remembered as a Hero, not just because he served his country, but because of the fact he was always there for people when you needed someone the most. Service and Visitation will be held on Monday November 1, 2021 at 1pm to 4pm at Franklin & Downs Funeral Homes. 1050 Mchenry Ave. Modesto, CA. His final resting place will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
