Robert L Irwin passed away on April 10, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born in Kimball, NE to Dorothy L. and Carl B. Irwin and had three brothers and four sisters. Robert grew up in Clark County, Washington area where he attended Evergreen Schools. Robert is survived by his two younger sisters, two sons, three daughters, two step-daughters, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and his spouse, best friend and true love, Antoinette Lynn.
Robert joined the U.S. Army and was sent to Pacific Theater and Occupation of Japan. He served several posts in Washington and California, shipped to South Korea in 1950 and returned to Ft. Riley, Kansas for special training school. Robert was an honorably discharged disabled veteran in February of 1952. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Korean Presidential Unit C.T. Combat Infantry Badge, American Theater-Asiatic/Pacific Theater-Japan Occ, Korean Campaign with five major campaign stars. Robert experienced success in the sales field as salesman, sales trainer and sales/marketing manager. He retired from Interstate United Corp in 1980 as VP Western Division. He went on to do consulting and career guidance counseling until 1984 and began traveling extensively.
