Robert Lee Cornwell

Robert Lee Cornwell went home with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ in Modesto California on November 27th, 2018 at the age of 85. Robert was born here in Modesto to his loving parents Arthur and Evelyn Cornwell. Robert graduated from Modesto High School in 1951. Before becoming a Route Salesman, Robert served his country by joining the United States Army.

Robert had a love for the outdoors, some of his favorite hobbies include fishing and playing softball. Robert and his wife of 65 years, Rosemary Bowen, also enjoyed traveling. They traveled around all 50 states collecting postcards everywhere they went.

He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary; all five of his children, Roanna (Larry) Biedenweg of Modesto, Randy (Nellie) Cornwell of CA, Raymond Cornwell of Mississippi, Roberta (Dan) Norris of Manteca, Rachel (Mike) Dozier of Texas; his six grandchildren who all reside in Texas; and his 6 great grandchildren.

Franklin & Downs funeral Home is honored to serve the Cornwell family. A memorial service will be held at Shelter Cove Community Church 4242 Coffee Rd, Modesto, CA 95357 on December 8th beginning at 10:00am. Robert will be laid to rest at Acacia Memorial Park. For memorial contributions the family has asked that a donation be made to Modesto Gospel Mission.
