Richard William Nancett

May 23, 1927 ~ July 6, 2018 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Tribute

Richard passed peacefully on the 6th of July at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmela Grimaldi-Nancett, his parents, Arthur and Anna Marie Pezzuto-Nancett, and his brothers, Albert and Alexander Nancett. Richard is survived by his children, Richard Jr. (Nancy), Anna Marie, Victoria, Leonard (Janice), and Michael (Mona); grandchildren, Michael, Carly, Jon-Erik (Denise), Jennifer, Stephanie, and Elizabeth, and five great-grandchildren.

Born in Rodeo, Ca., Richard moved to Modesto in 1941, where he attended and graduated from Modesto High and MJC. He also finished his BA degree in communications at UOP and had a concentration of studies in radio broadcasting and theatrics. Through his studies, he developed a love for the arts and music. Upon graduating, Richard married the love of his life, and wife of 63 years, Carmela Grimaldi. At this time, he started a successful career of 25 years in banking at both B of A and UCB. Afterwards, he went to work for the next 15 years at Scenic General for Stanislaus County.

After 40 years of working, he retired to enjoy life’s pleasures, attending shows at the Gallo Arts Center, travelling, and listening to music. He also enjoyed watching sports and was a diehard ‘49ers and Giants fan. Richard was a faithful parishioner at St. Stanislaus Church, where he was a lector and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He had a zest for living life as full as he could. Of the 91 years he lived, Richard’s greatest pleasure was enjoying an ever-growing family from children to great-grandchildren. He was loved by all and likewise.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 17th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Franklin and Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Avenue.
