Phillip Bradford Schmidt Sr.

Phillip Bradford Schmidt Sr. was born in Gustine, California on September 22, 1945 to Jack and Ellen Schmidt. Upon release from the hospital, they took baby Phillip home to the family ranch in Waterford, California, where he resided until his death.
 He attended local schools and graduated from Oakdale High School. Shortly after graduating, he married his high school sweetheart, Kandis (Kandy) Roen Schmidt. Together they spent the next 59 years of his life dedicated to the ranch, family and friends. He was often heard saying, “I was born here and I will die here.” Which he did peacefully on May 17, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Phillip spent his life building and expanding the home ranch with some fun thrown in along the way. Besides his family, he had a multitude of friends that shared in this fun, especially the many hunting and fishing trips. Aside from the fun, his greatest joy was helping people far and near.
He is survived by his wife Kandis, children Holly Smith (Grant), Gretchen Gragg (James), Jacob Schmidt, Sister Jacqueline Schmidt of Escondido, CA, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by Phillip Bradford Schmidt Jr., parents Jack and Ellen Schmidt, brothers Robert and Stephen Schmidt. 
A Memorial Service will be held on June 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at 13643 Tim Bell Rd. Waterford, California.
Remembrances may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research  Hospital or Paralyzed Veterans.
