Norris Anne Jackson, 82, passed away on Saturday at her home in Modesto. She was a resident of Modesto for 59 years. Norris was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donald Jackson who died in 2009 and her step son Richard.
Norris attended Turlock schools and graduated from Turlock High School in 1956. She enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1958.
She worked for Gallo Glass Company for 36 years as a Payroll and Office Manager. A lifelong member of Community of Christ (Reorganized Latter Day Saints). She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and vacations in Laughlin and Bodega Bay.
She is survived by her sons Donald, John, Lloyd (Cindy) all of Modesto, step son David of Phoenix, sister Judy Weaver of Modesto, grandchildren Mollie Smith of Modesto, Nathan McGough (Stephanie) of Modesto, Benjamin Jackson (Bethany) of El Cerrito, step grandchildren Michael, Christopher, Philip, Corwin, Roxanne, and Kenneth all of the Phoenix area, and Tiffanie of Lewiston, Idaho. Norris is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and one beloved cat, Lil’Bit.
Graveside services will be held at the San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella on Tuesday, November 23, at 1:00 PM.
Norris was dearly loved and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be forever in our hearts.
