Mildred Deane Lucas

Mildred Deane Lucas passed away on November 30, 2018 in Modesto, CA at the age of 91.  She was born on December 28, 1928 in Phoenix, AZ to Thomas J. and Sadie Mae Dowdy.  She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Thomas Manning Dowdy.  Mildred is survived by her sons, Patrick Lucas of Boise, ID and Timothy Lucas of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Brian Lucas, Andrew Lucas, Kevin Lucas, Felicia Lucas, Dianna Goodwin, Lisa Goodwin, Teresa Lucas and Jenna Lucas.

Mildred was a graduate of Modesto High School and San Jose State.  She never lost her zest for education and learning.  From 1950 onward, she was a timeless advocate, author and historian for Ceres and California agriculture.

Franklin & Downs Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lucas Family.  A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 10am at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home Ceres Chapel, 2561 5th Street, Ceres, CA.  Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home Ceres Chapel.  Committal will follow the service (family only) at Ceres Memorial Park, 1801 E. Whitmore Avenue, Ceres, CA.
