Marlene Hagerman

Marlene was born in 1934, in Ross, California, to Genevieve Childs and Carlton Francis Dougherty. She later attended school in Modesto, graduating from Modesto High School in 1952, where she lived with her mother and step father William Poncelet. After graduating, Marlene went on to attend Modesto Junior College, graduating with an Associates Degree in 1954. She then married Robert Dallas Hagerman in Modesto on July 1, 1956. She moved to Merced and made her home there. A son, Jeff Hagerman, was born on March 18, 1964 and a daughter Sandra Hagerman Cico on February 9, 1968. She worked for the family business, Valley Moving In Storage, before moving on to Merced County as a clerk in the probation department and later retired from there at the age of 78. She most recently moved back to her hometown of Modesto in 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents and step father as well as her husband Robert Hagerman in 1989. She is survived by her son Jeff Hagerman of Sacramento, grandaugther Marissa Hagerman and grandson Jacob Hagerman, as well as her daughter Sandra Hagerman Cico (Brian) of Modesto. Remembrances in her name would be appreciated and directed to Community Hospice of Modesto and or their Alexander Cohen House in Hughson. No services will be held, but a private rememberance will be shared at a later date by family and close friends.
