Marjorie Robinson

February 23, 1924 ~ June 4, 2021 (age 97) 97 Years Old

Tribute

On Friday morning, June 4,2021, Marjorie Wille Robinson joined her beloved husband, Larry, in heavenly repose. In her last hours, she was comforted and supported by her children and a close family friend, Mary Alice Onorato. She leaves three children: Larry Robinson (Judy), Gary Robinson (Jeanette) and Pamela Neumann (Paul). Marjorie lived a full life of ninety-seven years, a life blessed with a seventy-two year, exceptionally happy marriage with her late husband, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. A lifetime player, she excelled at golf, participating in national tournaments. In her later years, she was known as one of the best bridge players in the Modesto area. Bridge and golf were her two passions, and she spent many happy hours playing both at Del Rio Country Club, where she and Larry were among the founding members. The two of them traveled extensively, at first because of Larry's business relationships, after his retirement for the pleasure of visiting other countries and enjoying a wide circle of international friends. Marj's social life was extensive and varied. She very much enjoyed acting as a hostess for Larry's many business clients and valued the friends from other countries they both had made. Here in Modesto, she made their home a welcome place for family and friends.  Marj was known for her conviviality. She accepted people on their face value and made them feel welcome, whatever their background or social status. Holiday dinners for her large family were especially important to her. With Larry as her constant, loving companion, their travels to so many different countries broadened her view of the world and granted her an unusual  acceptance of the differences in people. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

There will be a private, graveside service.
