Maria Emma Gutierrez Aviña

Maria Emma Aviña, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister was born December 29, 1938 and passed away on January 5, 2021, in Modesto, CA at the age of 82.  

Emma’s love for family and faith runs deep, and shows through to her loving husband, children, grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Emma’s Faith was an important part of her life. Some of her many hobbies included reading her Bible, traveling, and especially spending time with her family.

Emma is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Dolores Gutierrez.  Emma is survived by her husband Roberto Pacheco Aviña, children: Angelina Aviña (Modesto), Lupe Aviña Villapudua (Modesto), Sylvia Aviña Savage, husband (son-in-law: Garry Savage) (Modesto), and Roberto Gregorio Aviña, wife (daughter-in-law: Fiorella  Aviña)  (El Dorado Hills), grandchildren: Ignacio Alberto Aviña, Carolina Aviña Sanches, Rebekah Isabel Suarez, Adrian Aviña Villapudua, Adan Aviña Villapudua, Christian Aviña Esteban, Madison Aviña Esteban, Ariana Noelle Aviña, Roberto Gregorio Aviña, Jr., Giacomo Roberto Aviña, and 4 great-grandchildren: Taylor Kobe Urgo, Olivia Herrick Aviña, David Alexander Villapudua, and Elianna Guadalupe Villapudua, brothers:  Jose Gutierrez, Jorge Gutierrez, Manuel Gutierrez, Mario Gutierrez, Pablo Gutierrez, Javier Gutierrez, and Ruben Gutierrez, sisters: Raquel Hernandez, Hortencia Gutierrez, Magdalena Cabrera and Socorro Lane. 

Today and every day, we will honor our mother by celebrating her life, memories, love and the influence she left on so many. We will live up to the standard she has set for us so that our children’s children will always know their roots. Where they will always know Emma Aviña.  

There will be an outside service for Emma at 10:00 AM, on January 15, 2021, at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, McHenry Chapel, 1050 McHenry Avenue, Modesto, CA.
