Maria del Carmen Bustamante age 80, passed away May 2, 2021 in the comfort of her home with her beloved family at her side. Lovingly known as Carmelita, she is preceded in death by the love of her life her “Cora” Luis Bustamante and is survived by her children: Luis Enrique, “Chivo” Bustamante, Luz Del Carmen “Pirinola” Bustamante, Guadalupe Giselle “Gigi” Barajas, Veronica “Veros” Bustamante Ramirez, Adolfo Juan “Adolfito” Bustamante, her Stepchildren Louis Bustamante and Yvette “Turi” Bustamante, who’s relationship was both dear and cherished. She also leaves behind 18 beloved Grandchildren. Carmelita was a devout Catholic with a passion and love for her “Virgencita de Guadalupe” that began as a child when she wanted to join a convent before falling in love with her Cora. Carmelita was known for her loving and caring nature and always had an open seat at the dinner table for all who passed. Extremely intelligent and poised Carmelita excelled in all areas of life. She was a devoted and dedicated mother and wife. Known as Mami or Mom by most and Abuelita Mom by her grandchildren she was always so thoughtful and an amazing chef! When she wasn’t pampering her children and grandchildren you could catch her completing the most intense crossword puzzles available. Carmelita was proud of her Mexican Heritage and made sure her children learned the beauty of their culture. One of Mami’s most memorable hobbies was setting up her Nativity Scene for the holidays, she was patient and detailed and her Manger and Christmas village will always be remembered. Carmelita, Mami, Mom, Abuelita Mom will be greatly missed and forever honored, may our Hermosa Mami rest in paradise now that she is reunited with the love of her life, her Cora.
