On Thursday March 28th Margaret Woodworth Miller passed away peacefully at home, she was 92. She was the mother of Susan Peterson, John Gill, Louise Gill and Katherine Sandow. She was grandmother (Granny) to Veronica and Christopher Sandow and Carter Peterson.
In her youth her family would spend summers at Lake Tahoe, eventually building a cabin on the shores at Zephyr Point. Margaret loved to travel and did so whenever she was able, often persuading family and friends to join her. When she wasn’t traveling, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading mysteries, loved art and was a talented painter.
Margaret grew up in Modesto California and had deep roots in the Central Valley. She held many jobs throughout her life, but her career was working for the Post Office, eventually becoming the postmaster of the town of Pescadero California. It was in Pescadero that she lived in her beloved house in the woods. She loved the community, the redwoods and the wildlife that surrounded her there.
Donations can be made in her memory to Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center
