July 28, 1935 ~ June 19, 2022 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Tribute

Margaret R. Garcia

On June 19, 2022, Margaret ascended to be with God. We take comfort to know that she was welcomed into Heaven, by her parents, Eustacio and Antonia, her brother, Diego and his son, Raymond, who all preceded her in death.

Margaret is survived by her three children, Russell, Michael, and Cynthia and their loving families. She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Delia, and family. She is also survived by her sister, Gracie and her Utah family

Mom, Goby, and Margie were all her names.

Mom was the person who made us who we are. She instilled the virtues of independence, resilience, and strength, to name just a few, into each child and grandchild. These are the virtues we rely on during this sad time.

Mom was the one who taught us to take on life’s challenges. To keep a roof over your head, do not be afraid to climb the ladder and lay those shingles. To keep a floor beneath your feet, buy that tile cutter and lay those tiles. She was an original DIY’er and never afraid to take on a house project.

Goby was the nickname used by her adoring grandchildren. She was the grandmother who made sure each holiday was celebrated with her grandchildren, from the handmade Halloween costumes, to the dyed Easter eggs parties, to the 4th of July parade watching and fireworks, she enjoyed having fun with her five grandchildren; Erryn, Kellen, Anthony, Colby, and Lauren.

Margie was everything to everyone, Margie was the “Tia”, who planned the family weddings, road trips and baked her famous orange cake. Margie was the daughter/in law, sister/in law, cousin, niece, and finally, the mother-in-law to Sue.  Margie was your coworker at Memorial Hospital. Margie was the friend you had.

She enjoyed many hobbies and interests during her life; Bingo, bowling, cards, slots, ceramics painting, sewing, sports, and dancing, to name a few.

We were blessed to have her for 86 years. Her memories and love will live on in our hearts.
