Carol Picolla

Lillian Carol Picolla, 81, of Moraga, California passed away on August 10, 2019 in Brentwood, California with her family by her side.  She was born to the late Abel and Hilda Ah You on December 20, 1937 in Hilo, Hawaii. Carol graduated from Hilo High School in 1955 and attended the University of Hawaii, Manoa for two years. She was Pan Pacific Queen, which afforded her the opportunity to greet dignitaries and celebrities including President Sukarno of Indonesia and a friendship that lasted nearly a decade. After college she worked as a stewardess where she met her future husband, Gerald, at the Oakland Airport. She married Gerald Picolla in 1960 and settled in Moraga, California where they lived for over 50 years.

Carol is survived by her husband Gerald, her three children; Jeffrey Picolla of Moraga; Lisa Kennealy of Brentwood; and Keri Picolla Stanbra of Los Angeles. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Carol was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Her warmth, grace and kindness will forever be remembered.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at Summerset III Club House in Brentwood, CA 94513. Aloha attire is encouraged. Donations can be made to Suncrest Hospice, 42808 Christy Street, Ste.216, Fremont, CA 94538 in Carol's honor.
