Lewis Wayne Brown

Modesto resident, Lewis Wayne Brown, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, CA after a short illness.  He was born November 22, 1942 to Trevis & Marjorie Brown in Modesto, CA, he was the oldest of 3 children.

Wayne, as he was known to all, graduated from Thomas Downey High School, Modesto, CA in 1960 and attended Modesto Junior College where he majored in Agriculture.  Wayne married the love of his life, Laurel, in 1963.  He worked many years in the agricultural industry having been employed by Stanislaus Implement & Hardware, John Deere, Caterpillar (Holt Bros & Pape) & Auctioneers-Ritchie Bros. & Martella Auction. He eventually started his own business - L.W. Brown Company, Inc. as a Farm Machinery Broker.  He was an active member of Calvary Chapel Modesto where he loved serving people and loved the Lord Jesus.  Wayne loved to fish, camp, backpack & hunt.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his devoted Wife-Laurel Brown; Children-Yvonne (Ron) McKim of Battle Ground, WA & Eric Brown of Rainier, OR; Granddaughters-Robyn & Lindsey McKim of Battle Ground, WA, Step-Grandson-Johnathan Dennis of Moses Lake, WA; Siblings-Harold Brown & Lewetta Gilbert both of Modesto, CA.  He will be deeply missed by many other family members, friends, & clients.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022 at 11am at Calvary Chapel, 4300 American Ave, Modesto, CA  95356.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation in his name to: Samaritan’s Purse-Kentucky Relief (www.smaritanspurse.org) or MJC Agricultural Dept.
