August 12, 1944 ~ March 30, 2024 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

After a brief illness, Larry left this earth in the early morning hours of March 30th, 2024. He was surrounded by his loved ones and per his wishes, was never alone. Larry was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Elinor Hagen, brother Danny Hagen and beloved wife Rene Hagen.

Larry leaves behind his loving partner Linda Burnett, daughter Debi (Rich) Lowe, son Andrew (Amber) Hagen, son John (Rhonda) Hagen, son Tom (Valerie) Hagen and his precious grandchildren: Alyssa, Lauren, Hannah, Sophie, Erika, Lance, Poppy and Fiona.

Larry was born in Berkeley and raised in Richmond, California. He attended Richmond High and UC Berkeley. He went on to work as an industrial insulator for 36 years, a proud member of Local 16 Heat and Frost Insulators Union. Following his retirement, he went back to work for the WCCUSD as a school custodian. Larry loved the ocean and abalone diving in particular. Every year you knew exactly where to find him on April 1st or August 1st as these were opening day of abalone fishing seasons. Larry loved spending time camping in Gualala, time spent at the family’s lake house and snorkeling with the turtles in Maui.

Larry was a fierce Bay Area Sports fan and avidly followed the Golden State Warriors, Cal Bears basketball and the Oakland Raiders.

A memorial will be held for Larry on Wednesday, May 15th at 11:00am at St. Joseph’s Cemetery Chapel at 2540 Church Lane, San Pablo, CA
