Larry French

Larry Joseph French passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the age of 74. He was born on February 11, 1944 in Modesto, CA to parents, Melvin and Mary French, who have both preceded him in death.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy French; children, Michael and Stacy French of Oakdale, CA, Greg and Jena French of Modesto, CA, Brooke and Ryan Ruehl of San Diego, CA; brother Philip French of Tracy, CA; grandchildren, Haley French and Alethea French, both of Modesto, CA, Dylan French and Trista French, both of Oakdale, CA, Reece Ruehl and Madison Ruehl, both of San Diego, CA.
Larry retired from Tracy Fire Department on August 15, 2000 after 28 years of service. He began working as a Golf Caddy at Pebble Beach in 2002. He grew up in Tracy, CA and graduated from Tracy High School in 1962.
He loved traveling with his family, especially trips to Disneyland with his grandchildren – his favorite place on earth. After retirement, he loved attending his grandchildren's events and going to San Diego to see his two youngest grandchildren. He also loved meeting with friends and family for breakfast, lunch and playing golf.
Franklin & Downs Funeral Home is honored to be serving the French family. A Service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00am at Oasis of Hope Church, 6600 Claus Rd, Riverbank, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children's Crisis Center, P.O. Box 1062, Modesto, CA 95353.
