John F Cerruti

John Francis Cerruti, 95, passed away on September 4, 2022, in Modesto, California.  John was born on November 17, 1926, to George and May Cerruti in Alameda, California.  After graduating from Alameda High School in 1944, John joined the military and served in Alaska with the U.S. Army.   After his service in the military, John joined the family business, farming 30 acres of vegetables, at Bay Farm Island, Alameda.  

John met his wife of 67 years, Maureen, at Hoberg’s Resort.  They married and raised 4 children together in Alameda.  After selling the farm in 1971, John embarked on a successful career as a real estate investor. 

Later in life, John and Maureen moved to Modesto and enjoyed gentleman farming, home cooking, and watching their grandchildren grow.  

John is survived by his daughter Karen, sons Richard and Mark, daughters-in-law Bonnie and Veronica, grandchildren Joni, Savannah, Allie, George and Samantha, and his great-grandchildren Dylan and Chase.  John is preceded in death by his wife Maureen, and his son John Jr.
