Janet Dolores Roberts

Janet Dolores Roberts went to be with our Lord on August 28th, 2021 at the age of 88 in Modesto, CA.  She was born to loving parents Leo Carl Elwert and Mary Anna Kuehl, on March 21, 1933 in Portland, OR.  
Jan met the love of her life Bobby Allen Roberts in Portland, OR and married in 1954.  Bobby passed away in 1997.  Bobby was an air force pilot and worked for Kaiser Aluminum taking them to many places throughout the United States.  (Chicago, Los Angeles, Portland, West Virginia, Riverside, Spokane. Florida, Texas)   
Jan and Bob moved to Modesto in 1972, owning and operating Pacific Industries and Pacific Aluminum on Bangs Ave.  Jan and Bob also owned and operated Winterbrook Vineyards in Ione, California.  
Jan quickly got involved with many groups locally, which included Mothers of Note, Thompson opera players, and newcomers club. Jan continued voice training through the years and became an accomplished opera singer.
Jan and Bob became Real Estate Developers in 1989 to 2003, Reno Nevada. She continued her singing training with the Sierra Nevada Master Chorale, which took her to performances throughout the state including a performance in Carnegie Hall, New York. 
Jan relocated in 2003, back to Modesto and continued to perform with the Modesto Performing Arts. Jan was very active with welcoming new residents and providing entertainment for seven-years at Dale Commons Assisted Living. She remained an active volunteer and board member with Modesto Performing Arts.
Jan was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Roberts and her parents, Leo Elwert and Mary Kuehl.  
Jan is survived by her children, Stanley Roberts of Modesto, CA; Douglas Roberts of Modesto, CA; and Cynthia Roberts of Hainesport, NJ, grandchildren: Douglas Roberts Jr. of Lincoln, NE; David Roberts of Denver, CO; Anna Britton of Oakland, CA; Conor Britton of Moorestown, NJ; Jessie Britton of Dublin, Ireland; Victoria Britton of Narragansett, RI; Sophia Roberts of Modesto, CA, Emelia Roberts of Modesto, CA; Jack Roberts of Modesto, CA; 2-Great Grand Children; Palmer Campbell Roberts of Lincoln, NE. Sister, Marian Hostler of Portland, OR
There will be a Funeral Service held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 9:30 AM, in Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, McHenry Chapel, located at 1050 McHenry Avenue

Jan lived a full and adventurous life with hunting, fishing, and camping. She was kind and befriending to all, with a great love of animals.   She was a wonderful cook and a fantastic story teller.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
