Harold Bryan Shaw

Harold Shaw was born on August 14, 1929 to loving parents Loyd Andrew and Lottie Wheat Shaw in Holdenville, OK. For 25 years he worked as a carpenter for PG&E, but in his free time he enjoyed fishing, reading, and spending time with his family. Before joining the workforce however, Harold served honorably in the US Army. Harold Shaw was a man with a huge heart made of gold. I don’t think anyone ever met him and didn’t love him. He had more friends than he could count and loved his family more than anything. His kids and grandchildren were his heart. These past couple years, his great grand daughters have been his sunlight during the cloudy days that old age brought on. He was the best grandpa and truly believed there were no better kids than his. Grandpa we hope you are taking in all the beauty and wonder of Jesus, enjoying a cold beer, and fishing with Monty. We can’t wait to hug your neck when we get there. 

Harold is survived by his loving wife Joyce Shaw, his children: Michael Shaw of Newark, DE and Nancy Kreutz of Modesto, his grandchildren: Jennifer M. Shaw of Newark, DE, Mallory B Plantz and Hailee A Garza both of Modesto, his great-grandchildren Norah Beth Plantz and Eevrlee Anne Garza, as well as his siblings: J.C. Shaw of Ceres, Laura Whitman of Riverside, and Bill Shaw of Modesto. Harold was preceded in death by his son Monty Shaw of Modesto, his parents, 2 sisters, and 5 brothers.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Franklin and Downs Funeral Home McHenry Chapel. Harold will later be laid to rest privately at Lakewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Harold’s name to Beckwith Veterinary Hospital at 3232 Beckwith Ct, Modesto, CA. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9
