Tribute

Glenn Rayburn Wimberley of Ceres passed away on December 20 at the age of 72. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Jacqueline.  They raised two beautiful sons, Brian and Timothy, who with wives Kathleen and Tracy gave them 5 grandsons, Matthew, Aaron, Joseph, Jason, and Jack.

Glenn proudly served in the Army in Vietnam. He attended Hueneme High School in Port Hueneme, CA and Ventura Jr. College in Ventura CA where he studied art. He owned his own business, Wimberley's Sign Works, for more than 30 years.

His artistic skills were put to work to open Imagine It Children's Museum in Ceres, designing exhibits and creating life size dinosaurs and Musical instruments to entertain and educate young children. He was the technical assistant to the young rocketeers and CO2 car racers.

He was preceded in death by his father James Marvin and mother Bessie Zenobia Wimberley, his sister Frances and brother James. He is survived by sister Gail (Tony) Blankenship, sister Wanda (Robert) Anderson, sister Lois Maloney, and brother Marlin (Betty) Wimberley.

He will be laid to rest in San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Rd, Santa Nella, California. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made in his name to Persephone Guild of Ceres, P.O. Box 1582, Ceres CA 95307 which will go towards scholarships to Ceres High/Central Valley High graduates pursuing a degree in Art.
