George Edward Oxford Sr. was born in Joplin, MO on May 24, 1937 to his parents Albert and Mildred Oxford. He departed this life at the age of 81 in his home in Modesto, CA, due to natural causes. George served 22 years of honorable service in the U.S Air Force, where he received many decorations and commendations. He performed military service stateside in Texas, Louisiana, Montana and Nebraska. He also spent time overseas at Ben Guerir Air Base (French Morocco), Torrejon Air Base (Madrid, Spain) and Tan Son Nhut Air Base (Saigon, Vietnam). George’s final assignment was as an Inspector for the Inspector General.
Following George’s military career, he worked as a Production Supervisor for Tri-Valley Growers. George married Martha Pulido on December 6, 1958 and remained married until his passing. He is preceded by his wife Martha and 2 sons George Oxford Jr. and Larry Oxford. He was a loving Grandfather to his grandchildren (Cindy Neves, Michelle Oxford, Debra Oxford, George Oxford III, and Larry Oxford Jr). He was also blessed with 3 great-granddaughters (Avery Neves, Abigail Neves, and Willow Wireman). George was an unforgettable man; his carefree spirit will remain in the hearts of the family and friends he left behind.
