Francisco Murillo

Modesto resident, Francisco “Frank” Murillo passed away on Saturday, May 21st at the age of 84. He was born April 22, 1938 to parents, Sacramento and Antonia Murillo in Southern California, one of 11 children. Frank worked in construction for about 50 years, also doing electrical work and underground fiber optics. He had a strong work ethic and returned to work after a brief retirement. 

Frank enjoyed being outdoors. He loved to go hunting, fishing, and camping with his family; at home he liked spending time doing yardwork, and crafting and tinkering in various projects. Frank could be described as a “man’s man” and made friends easily with his great sense of humor. He was everyone’s favorite grandfather.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings, and his loving wife of 50 years, Catherine Murillo. He is survived by his children, Valeriann, Mark, Rudy and Aaron Murillo; grandchildren, Mark Jr., Elijah, Diana, Christopher, Michael, Juliet, Aaron Jr., Roman, Alicia, Chloe and Rebecca Murillo, Autumn and Abram Castro, Andrea Velasco, Jared Martinez and Andrea Chavez; great-grandchildren, Adanaya Smith, Andrès Francisco Perez, Adriel and Sophia Rivera, Abram Castro, Alexia “Lexi” Velasco, Paloma and Sophia Murillo, and Zoey and Sheree Lopez, and Liliya Flores; siblings, Carmen Gunch and Lupe Teray, and many more dear family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17th at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Avenue, in Modesto.
