Eugene Harold Raymond was born on April 24th 1939 in Sacramento to Dio Fay and Ethel Raymond. Gene grew up and attended School in Ceres, California. Gene ran track and played basketball at Ceres High but his true passion was baseball. His junior year Gene met and fell in love with a pretty little girl named Carol Motel. Gene graduated from Ceres High in 1957. On September 20, 1958, Gene married his high school sweetheart and together they had three children. Gene joined the Sheet Metal Union in 1957. Gene and Carol moved to Waterford in 1971 where they built three beautiful homes and raised their children. Gene liked to hunt, fish, play golf and restore antique cars. Gene built and flew RC model airplanes for over 50 years. He shared his hobby with his own son as well as his grandsons. Gene had his pilot's license and flew two of his own planes. Gene loved traveling and went on several Professional Baseball Tours across the country. Gene was a lifelong San Francisco Giants fan. Gene retired in 1994 from the Sheet Metal Union and became an Almond Farmer at his ranch in Waterford where he remained until his passing. Gene treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren most of all. Gene took his final breath on Sunday February 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother David Raymond, a daughter Kelly Raymond and his wife of 56 years Carol Raymond. Gene is survived by a sister Maxine Barrett of Anchorage Alaska, a son, Jeff Raymond (Lynne) of Ceres and a daughter Kari Raymond-Johnson (Jerry Hedden) of Waterford. He has seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Rick), Olivia, Joey, Amy, Jack, Logan and Morgan. Two great grandchildren: Kali and Michael. Two step-grandchildren: Justin and Jeremy.
