Eugene Hernandez Benavidez

Eugene Benavidez, 77 years old, born September 2, 1943, in Lincoln County, Hondo, New Mexico.  Eugene was a resident of Modesto for over 20 years. Eugene passed peacefully surrounded by his family on May 24, 2021.  He is preceded in death by his parents, father Antonio Benavidez and mother Connie (Concha) Hernandez and siblings,Tonita Flores, Tony Benavidez and Orlando Benavidez. He is survived by his brother Esky Benavidez (wife MaryLou) of Murphys, Ca, sisters, Dolores Garza of San Jose, Ca, and Nadine Lovato of Granite Bay, Ca. He is also survived by his daughters; Claudia Plascencia, Pamela Pineau and Jennifer Benavidez and his grandchildren: Mary Mendiola, Andrea DeOllas, Alfred DeOllas, Priscilla Plascencia, Gracie Plascencia and Payton Busig.

Eugene enjoyed fishing, camping and relaxing working around his house while listening to “His Tunes”.  He was a hard working man, a good provider, loyal and dedicated. In his lifetime he traveled thousands of miles and he had a story for almost every one of them. He never met a stranger, his smile was infectious and you instantly felt welcome in his presence. He was a father figure to some, a friend to many and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was generous with his time, wit and humor. His door was always open, as was his willingness to share a cold beverage and conversation. He loved spending time with his family and welcomed all to his home. He will be missed by all that knew him.
