Dorothy June Irene Michaud

July 23, 1930- November 24, 2021

Born in Modesto, CA, the second of seven children to parents Meda & John Catarino.  She went to Modesto schools and graduated from Modesto High School in 1949.  She helped her family in the grocery business, where she met and married Frank Michaud in 1952.  They lived in Modesto and raised their four children in Ceres schools. Her husband Frank passed away in 1982. Dorothy was a caring Mom and Grandmother. After the death of her husband, she worked for 19 years for Ceres Unified Schools in food service. She was a member of St Judes’ Catholic Church, and a member of their Ladies Guild, Martha’s Vineyard, St. Vincent De Paul and others with the church, and a long-time member of the Tuolumne River Lodge.

Dorothy is survived by her children Steve Michaud (Nina), Phillip Michaud (Kelly), and Theresa Michel (Cory).  11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, sister Theresa Richey, and brothers Adrian and John Catarino, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis J Michaud, her daughter Shirley McGinthy, her sisters Barbara Sousa, Marie Arruda, Lorraine Sullivan and her parents, Meda and John M Catarino.

Funeral services will be on January 6th, 10am at St. Jude’s Church in Ceres, California, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Tuolumne River Lodge.
