DeAnn Marie Millerick

September 29, 1961 ~ April 4, 2024 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Tribute

On April 4th, 2024, we sadly said goodbye to our loving Deann Marie Millerick, 62, of Newman, California. Amidst a brave battle with cancer, Deann passed away surrounded by those she held dear.

She is survived by her husband, William Millerick, her children, Kasondra Klein, Kyle Gallamore, Quinn Millerick, and Miranda Millerick, and her grandson, Ethan Millerick. Her mother and father Marie and Ray Weeks. Her elder brother Trent Meyer, his wife Opal, and his daughter and son. Also, her elder sister Teri Korvin, her husband John, her daughter, two granddaughters, and one great granddaughter.

Deann was born in Anderson, Indiana in 1962 to Marie Larson and Richard Gallamore. In 1966, Marie and the kids migrated from Indiana to California to join Deann’s grandmother, Phoebe Larson. She encouraged the family to put down roots and seek better opportunities in the Santa Clara valley.

Moving to California allowed Deann to become close with her cousin Dawn. Being the same age and sharing similar interests, Dawn and Deann were soon joined at the hip - they were thick as thieves! Although miles separated them over time, they continued their special bond throughout their lives.

Deann became a lover of music. She could often be found tagging along with her elder siblings to see many of the great bands of the time in the wonderful venues around the Bay Area. She also enjoyed trips to Santa Cruz and camping with her family.

Growing up, the family always had rescue dogs and cats, instilling a love for animals in Deann for the rest of her life. Her own home was always filled with the love of pets - her dogs, cats, and birds.

Deann met the love of her life, William Millerick, in June of 1987 in Modesto, CA after being introduced by a mutual friend. They spent their dates going to Oakland A's games, as she was a huge A's fan when they met. Deann was always fond of travel, so the two loved to get out of town and head off to somewhere, frequenting places like Tahoe and Reno.

They were married in 1988 in Modesto. Deann and William spent 36 wonderful years as a married couple and raised 4 incredible kids together. The family often spent time in the Cameron Park area with Deann’s parents, where the kids loved to wander around by the creek and catch tadpoles. Every Sunday, the whole family would go to Williams father’s farm in Modesto. They all enjoyed feeding the sheep and cows, shooting beer cans with bb guns, and climbing the tall stacks of hay bales.

Deann was a wonderful and loving person who opened her house up and made everyone who visited feel at home and welcome. Her door was always open to allow for niece Kerensa to come enjoy the commotion and love of the household of four children! Deann also opened her arms to Quinn and Miranda’s best friend, Bria Brenizer, in 1998. She always joked that Bria was “her 5th child."

Deann and William never grew tired of traveling! Their favorite spot, which they visited quite often, was Cabo San Lucas. The two couldn’t get enough! They also traveled to countless other places like Las Vegas, Hawaii, Chicago, Seattle, and Nashville.

On the weekends, it was commom to find the family gathered around the TV cheering for the San Francisco 49ers. Deann and William were even season ticket holders for the Niners! Deann, William, Kasondra, and Ethan enjoyed going to playoff games earlier this year.

Deann spent the majority of her time with her grandson Ethan. She would frequently take him to do activities at the local library. Her and William often took him along on their travels, to places like Hawaii, Cabo, and Chicago. At home, Deann loved to spend her time watching General Hospital and Food Network!

Everyone who knew Deann was touched by her kindness - she was a beautiful and fun-loving soul who brought joy and happiness to those around her. Most of all, she was a wonderful, caring mother and a devoted, loving wife.

To honor Deann’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life on June 8th at 6pm at The Fruityard in Modesto, California. We invite all those who knew her to attend and join us in commemorating the heartfelt joy of her time with us.
