Dale Brian Bell

Dale Brian Bell born September 13, 1951 in Modesto, CA passed away Saturday July 17, 2021 at the age of 69.  Dale was born to parents, Betty and Joseph Bell whom preceded him in death.   He is survived by his significant other Jody Fluke, Siblings: brother Danny Bell (Linda) and sisters Danell Caldera (Craig), Danise Perryman (Steve); children Brian Bell (Jennifer), Jaime Johnson (Ali Bryant), Mark Bell (Jennifer), Julie Bell; and 8 grandchildren. Dale will be greatly missed by these loved ones, plus additional relatives, close friends, and former colleagues.

Dale grew up in Modesto, CA working at the family-owned Bell Mart grocery stores.  At the early age of 14, Dale found a love for his future career as a meat cutter which he pursued for 20 years, and in 2013, he retired from Raley’s in Redding, CA.

Dale attended Downy High School where he excelled in wrestling and gymnastics, graduating in 1969. He furthered his education at Modesto junior college earning an associates degree, then continued on to Sacramento State where he carried on competing in both wrestling and gymnastics.

At the age of 14, Dale met Debi Kizer (Bell) at a gymnastics competition and they later married and had four children; Brian, Jaime, Mark, and Julie. Dale had a funny and playful personality with a love for his kids and grandkids like no other. He was a very proud father and grandfather and attended as many of their events as possible.

Dale continued his love of sports throughout his life adding waterskiing, bowling and golf. During his retirement years, Dale would golf 2-3 times a week with best friend Mike Falgren and several golf buddies. The last few years of his life Dale picked up the love of woodworking following in the footsteps of his brother and father.

Dale was the kind of man that would instantly light up a room, and put you at ease with a smile or playful joke. He was quick to make friends and his personality traits included being joyful, outgoing, caring and calming with a warm and kind heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 7th at 11am at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Ave. Modesto, CA 95350
