Coy Lavaughn Daily

Coy was born September 4, 1939 in Lawton, Oklahoma to loving parents Coy Clifton and Esther Mae Daily. He passed away on January 10, 2021 in Modesto, CA.

Coy graduated from Oakdale High School in 1958.  He played football and baseball all four years.  After graduating from high school, he went to barber college and worked as a barber for many years.  He and Mary Jane Meisenbach married in 1960 and spent 60 years together.  Coy was drafted into the US. Army in 1961 and served his required commitment.   After serving in the Army Coy returned to barbering and after many years went to work for the Department of Corrections until his retirement.

Coy was proceeded in death by his parents Coy Clifton and Esther Mae Daily. He his survived by his loving wife Mary Jane Meisenbach Daily of Modesto, CA; daughter Laura Jean Daily of Sacramento CA, John Charles Daily (Sandy) of Modesto, CA; grandchildren Kirstien Daily Groves (Doug) of Modesto, CA; Dannen Daily Tebaldi (Justin) of Pacific Grove, CA; Angelique Jack of Sacramento, CA, and 2 great-grandchildren. He has two brothers Dr. Charles H. Daily (Barbara) of Oakdale, CA and Ronald H. Daily of Riverbank, CA. and a sister Nilda Rodriguez of Lawton, Oklahoma. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces. He will be missed by all who knew him. He always had a smile on his face.

Franklin & Downs McHenry Chapel, 1050 McHenry Ave., Modesto, CA is assisting the Daily family with the Graveside Service for Coy on January 28, 2021, at 11:00 AM at San Joaquin County National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Rd., Santa Nella CA.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent to St. Jude's Children Research, Boys Town, NE or to Wounded Warriors Project.
