Cesario Estrada entered into rest at the age of 88 on Monday, December 4, 2017 in Modesto, CA. He was born in North Platte, NE on February 25, 1929 and was a resident of Modesto for 47 years.
Cesario is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Evangeline Rivera Estrada; his parents, Patricio and Maria Estrada; his siblings, Helen Flores, Albert Estrada, Manuel Estrada, Henry Medrano, Lupe Ortiz and Ernie Medrano.
Cesario is survived by his children, Larry Estrada, Geraldine Estrada Boyer, Deborah Ochoa (Tim) Brawley, Charles Estrada (Georgia) of Greeley Hills, Antoinette Estrada of San Diego, and Edward Estrada; his siblings, Phyllis Perez of Modesto, Robert Estrada of Chandlier, Mary Garcia of Moore Haven, Arthur Estrada of Sterling, Patsy Rodriguez of Sterling, Julia Serrano of Sterling, Ramona Benavides of Sterling, Checho Medrano of Oakdale, Trina Vasquez of Riverbank, and Rosa Medrano of Riverbank. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Cesario Estrada was a 23 year decorated Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the Army in 1972 as a 1st Sergeant with two purple hearts, and four Bronze Stars, one of which was for Valor among the 17 medals he received. Following his retirement from the United States Army, he went on to work at Cal Pine Containers for 20 years. Cesario was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed his wood crafting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Franklin & Downs is honored to be serving the Estrada Family. A visitation is scheduled from 3:00–6:00pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Avenue in Modesto. Cesario will be laid to rest with his beloved wife on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10:00am at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Road in Santa Nella.
