Carolyn Ann Phelps

October 10, 1933 ~ September 16, 2019 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Tribute

Carolyn was born October 10, 1933 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Cluster Ervin and Anna Mae (Malone) Queen, she passed just 3 ½ weeks before her 86th birthday.

Carolyn’s mother passed at a very early age, so she was raised by her Father, loving Step Mother Hattie, Step brother Hairm and sister in-law Alene Cowan.  She married young and had 4 children Johnny, Karen, Janice and Ricky Story with her first husband Wilmer Story, they were married for 37 years.

Carolyn worked as a paraprofessional at Walter White Elementary School in Ceres, and in a Family owned Upholstery business; alongside her husband Wilmer for many years until his passing.   She later remarried to Robert Phelps and was married for an additional 27 years.

She leaves behind; her sister Gladys Hughes of Tulare, her daughter Karen Faulkner and Husband Henry of Stockton, her daughter Janice Thomason of Ceres, son Rick Story and his wife Candy of Modesto, Daughter In-Law Linda (Story) Wingate.  She also is survived by her Grandchildren; Lacy Elliott and husband Logan, Joshua Story and his wife Katie, Cole Thomason, Joey Story, Kaycie Faulkner, Amanda Faulkner, Tyler Story and wife Kasey, Laura Domingos and her husband Rob; as well as her Great Grandsons; Hayden Elliott, Landen Elliott, Jonas Story, Adam Story, and David (Faulkner) Potter.  All of her babies were the light of her life and brought a smile to her face and joy to her heart right up until the very end.  Carolyn’s hobbies were those babies.

Carolyn also leaves behind, Step Brother;  Nathan Bergum and half Sister Barbara Queen of Tulare, Calif and several brother in-laws; Charlie (Linda), Jimmy, and Benny Story as well as a sister in-law, Peggy Dorsey of Washington and she had a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews from all over the globe. 

Carolyn is preceded in death by her Parents, her husband Wilmer Story, her second husband Robert Phelps, her oldest Son; Johnny Story and her Son in-law John Thomason. Brother Donald Queen, Sister Joy Thomason, many Step Brothers and Sisters, as well as multiple Brother in-laws and Sister in-laws.

Per Carolyn’s request; she will be laid to rest with a very simple Gravesite Service to be conducted on Monday, September 23rd at 3:00 pm at the Ceres Memorial Cemetery located at 1801 E. Whitmore Ave; Ceres, Calif.
