Bruce Wayne Bates

Bruce Wayne Bates, 59 of Hickman, CA passed peacefully in his sleep at his home on January 3, 2018. Welcomed on March 11, 1958 Bruce was the fifth of six children to Ben and Lois Bates. He was a very generous and loving man who went out of his way to donate to local churches each year. Bruce was the type of person to give the shirt off of his back if he saw someone in need. He was an avid sports enthusiast and a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He passed on his love of sports to his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, U.S. Navy veteran, Ben Bates, mother Lois Bates, and his sister Linda Sousa. He is survived by his wife of 21 years Patricia (Pat) Bates of Hickman, CA. His children Amber Snyder of Concord, CA, Chavon Bates of Modesto, CA, Donelle Butler of Paso Robles, CA, Tristan Bates of Modesto, CA, and Cary Price Jr. of Hickman, CA. His grandchildren Caleb Campbell of Modesto, CA, Jessica Lane of Riverbank, CA, Maddison Snyder of Concord, CA, Kiana Campbell of Modesto, CA, and Daniel Butler of Paso Robles, CA. His siblings Nora Pargaz of Turlock, CA, Joe Bates of Linside, WV, Ron Bates of Waterford, CA, Keith Bates of Waterford, CA, and several nieces and nephews he loved dearly. Bruce was a great man but an even better, husband, dad, and papa and he touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held at later date.
