Beverly Irene Tillema

Beverly Irene Tillema was born to Bart and Irene Gasner August 8, 1928 in Modesto, California.  She was preceded in death by her Husband of 57 years Cornelius “Dutch” Tillema, her daughters Sheree Tillema of Waterford and Cindy Wherry of Modesto.

She is survived by her Granddaughter Jodie Santos of Riverbank and her two Great Grandchildren. She enjoyed horses, traveling, and gardening in her free time.  Beverly was a beloved friend, wife, mom, and Grandma. She was always upbeat and laughing.  She traveled the world with her late husband Dutch.  They enjoyed spending time with friends in Pinecrest and at the coast as well.  Despite the tragic losses she endured during life she was strong willed and full of life.  Bev would visit the Court Room often to take her Zumba classes and lift weights up until she was 88 years old.

She participated with her two daughters horse competitions for years when they were young.  Traveling all over, towing a horse trailier, horses, and her children.  She was a mother to her one and only Grandchild, Jodie, who she took in at age 16.  They both traveled together to Mexico, Canada, Italy, Switzerland and Hawaii.  They have always been close, and she is going to be missed so much. 

Bev was a member of C.W.A – California Woman for Agriculture and also Modesto’s Garden club.

Franklin and Downs is honored to be serving Jodie Santos in this time of need.  A visitation is scheduled Wednesday 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Franklin and Downs Funeral Home, McHenry Chapel 1050 McHenry Avenue in Modesto, CA.  A committal will follow directly after the service at Acacia Cemetery 801 Scenic Dr, Modesto, and CA 95350.
