Agnelo Manuel Maciel

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you that Agnelo Manuel - Fagundes  Maciel passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2018

He was born May 9, 1949 in Terceira, Azores. He was preceded in death by his father Manuel Dimiz Maciel, his mother Esaltina Sao Pedro Maciel - Rodriques, after his father passed away at a very young age, he was blessed to have been raised by his dad Kenneth Rodrigues. He is survived by his children Eric Manuel Maciel and Tracie Maciel both of Modesto. His sisters,  Lucia (George) Rocha of Galt, Betty (Jerry) Skidgel, Brother Kenneth Rodrigues, and Karen (Jeff) Bowman. His  grandchildren Ozdyn and Clyr Maciel. Adopted children & grandchildren Cassie Perez, Grecia Guzman (Chad), Jessica Guzman, Oralia Zurligen, Tori Young- Munson, and many more. He will also leave behind Great grandchildren Klayton and Layla Smith.

He was a member of Lady of Fatima, Thorton, CA Lady of Miracles, Gustine, CA and The American Legion Post 0872 and Turlock Sportsman Club. He served in the United States Army, a soldier and hero for life.

Whether you walked beside him at the plant, at POST, Kraft- General Foods, he worked nearly 40 years! Maybe you ran up and down the soccer fields with him? Or maybe you snuck into the race track VIP tents? Maybe you went camping at the gun club, riding quads in in the mountains, or met him for weekly coffee at “the bowl?” Possibly you sat across from him writing a pro and con list. If you were lucky enough to be at holiday dinners in Galt listening to him tell “yo mama,” jokes… then you truly knew him! With a heart of gold and his love for kids, he touched so many lives that many of us will never be the same. He was a dad and grandpa like no other. He was a wonderful son, and son in law, a proud nephew, a loving brother, an amazing uncle, and a wonderful friend. We are truly blessed to call him dad.

Franklin and Downs is honored to be serving the Maciel family. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday August 7, 2018 from 4 PM to 6 PM and Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday August 8, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Saint Stanislaus located at 709 J St, Modesto, CA, committal services to follow at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery located at 1141 Scenic Drive, Modesto CA.
