Ronald Nicholas

Ron Nicholas, Sr. 82, of Ceres, California passed away on December 30, 2017. He was born on May 31, 1935 in Hershey, Nebraska, to Cecil and Berniece Nicholas. They had 3 sons, Donald, Ronald and Jerry Nicholas. Ron married Betty JoAnn Curry in Littleton, Colorado in 1954. He moved his family to Ceres, California in 1967 where they resided on Christmas Tree Lane until his passing.
Ron is preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Anderson, who passed away in July. He is survived by his wife, Betty JoAnn Nicholas; sons Ronald Nicholas,Jr (Sharon) and Bob Nicholas (Sandra); son-in-law Steve Anderson; grandchildren Samantha Smith (Tomas), Melissa Book (Jason), Michelle Reimers (Ted), Laura Smith (Michael) and Andrew Schoenlein (Maureen); and 10 great-grandchildren.
Ron worked at United Dairy in Denver, Colorado where he was a milk man on the Little Abner Children’s Program. Then when he moved to Ceres he worked in the chemical sanitation industry until he retired from West Agro Chemical Company in 2002.
Ron enjoyed being a member of Turlock Golf and Country Club for many years.
He will be remembered for his generosity and always being there for his children to lend a helping hand.
Funeral services will be held on January 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at Franklin and Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Ave, Modesto, California.
