Richard Francis Rekart

Richard Francis Rekart, 82, entered into rest on Friday, November 10, 2017 in Modesto, CA. He was born on July 3, 1935 in Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Francis Rekart and Helen Margaret Christie Rekart; his sister, Sharon Bell, and brother, Arthur Rekart.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Beverly Anne (Buckley) Rekart; his brother, Joe Rekart, Silas, MO; his children, Michael Rekart, Denton, TX, David Rekart, Livermore, CA, MaryAnne Pleskach, Fremont, CA, John Rekart, Tracy, CA and Rick Rekart, Gilbert, AZ. He is also survived by his beautiful grandchildren, Matthew Rekart, Denton, TX, Kyle Rekart, Denton, TX, Bailey Rekart, Denton, TX, Melody Vaughn, Gilbert, AZ, Rachael Cotton, Oakland, CA, Jared Pleskach, Fremont, CA, Jessica Pleskach, Oakland, CA, Jaclyn Pleskach, Fremont, CA, Danielle Valenzuela, Tracy, CA, Jakob Valenzuela, Tracy, CA, Ty Rekart, El Mirage, AZ and Alyssa Rekart-Thompson, Phoenix, AZ; as well as his four great-grandbabies.
Richard proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Coast Guard at a young age; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Helping Hands. He enjoyed skiing, Ham Radio and Search and Rescue Scuba Diving and hunting.

A Memorial Service will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Our Lady of the Sierra Catholic Parish, 40180 Indian Springs Rd, Oakhurst, CA. Richard's final resting place will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Hands, www.pregnancyoakhurst.com.
