Edward Alexander Lopez

Edward “Eddie” Alexander Lopez died peacefully on March 31st, 2024, in Modesto, CA at the age of 67.

Eddie is survived by his daughter, Sara Lopez of Modesto;Siblings, Tony Lopez of Modesto, Pauline “Chata” Rodriguez of Modesto, and Rudy Rodriguez of Modesto, as well as numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymundo Lopez of Newman, CA. 

Eddie was born on April 9th, 1956, in Modesto, CA to Pauline Chacon and Raymundo Lopez. He graduated from Orestimba High School in 1974. He was in several sports during his high school career, performing phenomenally in Wrestling and Track and Field. 

Eddie traveled for a few years throughout California after graduation. He then met Katherine and they later married in1984. After moving to Turlock, CA, Eddie began working for Wardens Office in Modesto, CA as an assemblyman on the warehouse production line. Later in 1984, Eddie and Katherine welcomed their daughter, Sara. 

His daughter remembers him as a loving father who always encouraged her to pursue her goals in life. His support was unwavering, and he never hesitated to let her know how loved she was. 

Eddie was passionate about sports and often indulged inwatching games, whether they were at the local High School or on T.V. Being a fan and a talented former high school wrestlerhimself, he was always in attendance at the High School meets, cheering on the local J.V. and Varsity teams. He was such a fan and incredibly supportive of the kids.  He was a witty individual who loved to share a joke or two and who was skilled at making people laugh. He was an active and devout member of the Delhi Community Presbyterian Church and often volunteered at bible study. A dedicated member of the community in Turlock, Eddieoften took part in helping others in need.

The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Delhi Community Presbyterian, located at 15917 El Capitan Way, Delhi, CA 95315 with a burial to follow at Patterson Cemetery located at 10800 State Highway 33, Patterson, CA 95363.
