Charles Satrang Cully

Surrounded by family, Bud passed away following a brief illness.  He was born in Pasadena, one of four children to David and Lucille Cully.  Following high school, Bud served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1960.  Thereafter, Bud attended and graduated California Polytechnic Institute in 1960, earning a degree in Mechanized Agriculture.  He continued on and earned a Master's degree in Education.  Bud taught for 4 years at Downey High School, after which he spent another 31 years teaching at Ceres High School, eventually retiring in 2002.  Throughout his career, Bud was very involved in Teen Challenge and was a head advisor for the FFA.  In retirement, Bud taught part-time at Modesto Junior College.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  His hobbies included fishing, Giants ballgames, gardening and traveling when time allowed.  He was a longtime member of CrossPoint Community Church, where he spent his life volunteering his time and serving the Lord.  He shared his love of the bible with everyone he knew, and enjoyed praying for others during good times and bad.  He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.   Bud is survived by the love of his life and wife of 32 years, Sunny; sons Darryl (Donna), Tim (Kimkinyana), Casey and Scott (Tammy); stepsons Mark Byers and David (Vania) Johansen and stepdaughter, Jeanette Pettigrew; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers John, Gary and Pat.  Visitation will be held on March 2nd from 5:00-8:00 pm at Franklin & Downs, McHenry Avenue.  Burial at 9:00 am on March 3rd at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella.  A Celebration of Life will be held on March 3rd at 1:00 pm at CrossPoint Community Church, Modesto.
